The ancient world would eventually both praise and damn the infamous `Ghost of Sparta' as the mortal who slayed a god, but long before his battle with Ares, Kratos sought absolution from his past sins by pledging himself as a champion to the gods. These brutal crusades in the name of Olympus became legendary, but would have far-reaching consequences. In iChains of Olympus/i Kratos is pushed to the edge as he is ordered by the gods to journey to the very depths of the underworld after the world plunges into darkness. There he must face the most feared creatures of Greek mythology and is forced to choose between his own personal redemption and saving the ancient world from certain destruction. It is a choice that will shake the immortals from their perches on Mt. Olympus.p/biGod of War's/i Epic Gameplay Comes to the PSP/bbr/PlayStation Portable has always been head and shoulders above its competitors in the handheld market when it comes to processing power, and in iGod of War: Chains of Olympus/i the PSP platform may just have reached its highest level to date. Packed with features like dramatic camera angles, epic set pieces, cinematic cut scenes, stirring audio and seamless fast action gameplay, formerly only available on console platforms iChains of Olympus/i binds players to the game's epic adventure, regardless where they are when they join in the action.p/bCombat Moves, Both Old and New/bbr/Nearly as defining as the name of Kratos itself, the trademark sweeping attack moves of the `Ghost of Sparta' using his weapon of choice the `Blades of Chaos,' epitomizes all iGod of War/i games and iChains of Olympus/i is no exception.p/Although overall the PSP has fewer buttons than the PlayStation 2 controller, developer Ready at Dawn Studios has managed to incorporate nearly all of the attack moves and combination moves from previous games in the series into this new project. This continuity in gameplay not only provides a seamless intro into the game for veteran players, but a gentle learning curve for players new to the series. Add to this new brutal combat moves and an additional upgradable weapon and you have a combat system that will engage players at all levels.p/bExploration and Puzzle Solving/bbr/From the bright gates of Attica to the darkest dungeons of Tartarus, Kratos' journey and your own will take you through the dark and brutal world of Greek mythology. Here not only will your skill with the Blades of Chaos be tested, but your wits as well.p/As you explore the dangers of the ancient world, players must be prepared to use their navigational skills as they press on through labyrinths of challenging puzzles. Some may be simple tests at manipulating the game's environment to your advantage, while others much more difficult also requiring precision timing of moves, but each will be different and test you in new ways.p/bAn Evolution in Franchise History/bbr/More than just a missing piece in the history of the iGod of War/i franchise, iChains of Olympus/i also serves as an evolutionary link between the origins of the iGod of War/i franchise and its future. Originally developed for PlayStation 2, the future of the franchise is slated to make its arrival on PlayStation 3 in the form of the highly anticipated iGod of War III/i in the not too distant future. Not only is PlayStation Portable designed to work in unison with PlayStation 3 in many ways, but both long-time fans and newcomers to the series who choose to watch and play iChains of Olympus/i carefully may very well pick up clues as to the direction the franchise will be heading in with iGod of War III/i.p/Regardless, whether you find yourself playing for the current chapter in Kratos' saga or preparing yourself for the battles to come on the PlayStation 3, iGod of War: Chains of Olympus/i is a must have title for any current owner of a PSP or those considering getting in the handheld game with one.p/

The best PSP title available
This game is a truly wonderful game. It captures the great gameplay and experience of its console counterparts well. It is on the short side of around 6-7 hours but for a handheld thats to be expected. If you love God of War or action games, this is a must purchase.

God of War Chains of Olympus
This game is so much fun. I wish they made all the other parts of this game for psp I would definately order them cause it so much fun to play.

God o' War
I like the God of War series. I really do. It's fun playing as an angry gray greek killing and dismembering any and all who stand in my way. Bedding at least two beauties near the beginning of each adventure with rythm game precision. Smiting some god of something or other by the end of the game. Battling bosses ten times my size and winning, while looking totally awesome. Sure, Kratos has the acting chops of a tin can, what with his wide range of emotions including: angry, smoldering, raging, and smoldering with rage... But we're not here to talk of Kratos's skills as a thespian, we're here to discuss his battle worthiness. br /I was very happy when i had heard it was coming to the small system, but i was still worried. The PSP has fewer buttons than a PS2... which usually spells trouble for games ported from a bigger brother of a system. But then i heard it was being made by the same team that did Daxter, which is the best platformer on the PSP, so i had hope. And my trust was not misplaced. br /The game controls excelently. Kratos still has many of the signature combos from his PS2 incarnation, so falling back into the groove of things was not all that difficult. And, by the end of the game, i actually preferred this control scheme to the PS2. My biggest gripewith God of War was the right analog dodge. I could never send Kratos bounding in the direction i wanted to, but i have no problem w/ the PSP. Sure, the shoulder buttons get a lot of your attention, but i liked being able to cast a magic attack with the press of a shoulder and face button. br /Story wise, the game's okay. Kratos' biggest reveals have already been done on the bigger systems, but i do like how the game foreshadows a few things that you will come across in a later game. br /The action has that special God of War flavor and the enemies you face all offer a challenge in their own way. Sure, not as many enemies appear at the same time on screen, but it's okay when the game plays and looks like this. And, unlike the first two games, this one introduces a secondary weapon that's actually effective and fun to use! Imagine that... By the end of the game, you come across a "boss battle" that makes you feel horrible, and you see why Kratos hates serving the Gods, what with all their manipulations and machinations. br /Ultimately, if you like the series, then do yourself a favor and get this for your PSP. Many call it God of War lite, but i disagree. This game, while maybe not as challenging as it's console brothers, is great and thrilling ride from start to end.

god of ... well not war
This game was good but not great. The attacks are smooth and easy, but the cutscenes are a bit well off. Overall the game does not live up to the GOD OF WAR franchise. If your a big god of war fan then get it, but if not well don't bother.
