วานนี้ (10มี.ค. ตรงกับเวลาไทย 11 มี.ค.)บริษัทโซนี่ คอมพิวเตอร์ เอนเตอร์เทนเมนต์ประกาศข่าวอย่างเป็นทางการที่งานประชุมนักพัฒนาเกม (GDC 2010)แล้วว่า เจ้าคอนโทรลเลอร์หัวกลมที่มีลูกเล่นจับความเคลื่อนไหวได้นั้น ไม่ได้มีชื่อว่า Gem หรือ Arc ตามข่าวลือ แต่จะใช้ชื่อว่า “เพลย์สเตชัน มูฟ” (PlayStation Move) แถมยังเพิ่มคู่มาด้วย Move Sub-controller ที่มีปุ่ม D-Pad และแกนแอนนาล็อกในตัว

สำหรับแพคเกจที่จะวางขายนั้น แบ่งออกเป็น 3 แบบ คือ วางขายเฉพาะเจ้าอุปกรณ์ตัวนี้ เหมาะสำหรับผู้เล่นที่มีกล้องเพลย์สเตชัน อาย(PlayStation Eye)อยู่แล้ว ซึ่งเป็นอุปกรณ์ที่ต้องใช้คู่กัน แพคเกจถัดมาจะจับทั้งคู่ขายด้วยกัน ส่วนอีกแพคเกจจะเพิ่มเกมเข้าไปเสริมในชุด

ด้านราคาของ”เพลย์สเตชัน มูฟ” โซนี่บอกว่าจะประกาศให้ทราบอีกครั้งในภายหลัง แต่ในเบื้องต้นจะอยู่ที่ราคาต่ำกว่า 100 เหรียญสหรัฐ (3,300 บาท) ทั้งนี้ รายชื่อเกมที่รองรับระบบการเล่นใหม่เท่าที่มีข่าวมาก่อนหน้านี้ ก็มีอย่าง Echochrome 2 ,เกมใหม่ของ Ape Escape, Pain, Flower, EyePet ,Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 จาก EA Sports, SOCOM 4,LittleBigPlanet และ Sports Champions

ทั้งนี้ รายชื่อบริษัทจัดจำหน่ายเกมและสตูดิโอเกมที่เข้าร่วมพัฒนาเกมให้มีอยู่ 36 เจ้า อาทิ Activision, Capcom, WB Games, Namco Bandai, Square Enix, Ubisoft, EA, Disney, Konami, Sega, Crave และ Tecmo Koei ส่วนทางสตูดิโอจากโซนี่จะมีผลงานเกมที่รองรับมากกว่า 20 ตัวภายในสิ้นปีงบประมาณนี้

Wow. The PS3 is getting HD purchases and rentals from all six major studios. A quick search turns up that Xbox is missing Fox and, duh, Sony.

It’s nice that Sony isn’t handicapping the Playstation 3 in order to protect its blu-ray business.

Sony’s got deals with Fox, Disney, Paramount, Itself, Universal and Warner. I’m impressed. Now I just have to remember my login for PS network.

By and large, EA Sports’ Season Opener event here at GDC was underwhelming, but one glimmer of newness did manage to shine through. Nearly a year after Active hit stores (video after the break) and encouraged Wii gamers to drop those unwanted pounds before hitting the soft sand in the summer, the company has announced that Active 2.0 (a working title) is currently in development for Wii, PS3, iPod touch and iPhone. We’re told that a “new suite of fitness products” will be launching in the fall, with the Active 2.0 program delivering “true fitness results by featuring an innovative wireless control system powered by new leg and arm straps with motion sensors, a heart rate monitor to capture intensity and a new online hub to track and share workout data.” Outside of that, details are nonexistent (like how exactly the iPod / iPhone components will factor into this equation), though we get the feeling that Xbox 360 owners may be left out of the party. Here’s hoping we’re wrong.
